whats the name of the bird? :)
I forget but open for suggestions. Want to fo first?
SALT. But unfortunately it will kill your plants too.
And it gets washed away easily.
Perhaps this can be somehow transformed into a watch winder?
@@Rich-vp4ih creative thought!
I tried vaseline with salt mixed in. Works for like 1 day, then rain washes the salt away easily leaving the vaseline which doesn't bother them at all. Tried slug traps and most just slither out. Also hate the slimy mess in the morning. Think im defeated, 3 months of this battle and they win. Theyve evolved to not give a sh*t to most things.
:) Only solution is an electric fence (if you have a raised bed garden), with a bit of care it is 100% effective. I have a bunch of videos related to that on my channel. Don't give up, they are slugs!
This is an amazing build. I have been searching for ideas and I had this in mind but could not visualize or draw, let alone build it. I appreciate how you not only illustrated corner cabinets but took the time to show the dovetails, corners and the slide supports. I'm going to attempt to draw it, build a model the see if I am capable of doing this for our kitchen. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing idea and build.
Glad you like it!
I wonder how black pepper would compare. They certainly don't like the smell of bleach (trying to deal with a home invasion!).
@@meteorquake9 sounds like it might work but best to test small area first.
@@BobKelland I tried them last night, and they really dislike them; I have made a bleach mist spray to use before sleep, which hopefully will also degrade their trails as they likely follow each other. They seemed to dislike all spices when I wafted them near them, but I'm hoping black pepper will be more resilient in terms of staying power. It also occurs to me that moth balls might be pretty good in a bad situation as they last a long time.
@@meteorquake9 Moth balls idea is a new one to me, should be interesting. BTW I did two separate videos relating to this. Should find both on my channel. Yes seems to me black pepper should last so could be another good solution. If you have a raised bed garden the best way to keep the slugs out of it is the electric fence. Lots of info on that on my channel too.
then where did he put it ?
NOT a realistic experiment
AMAZING! Underrated video
Thanks, might try again this summer.
GOOD JOB ! :) Regards - Paul P. from Poland :)
Thanks Paul. It was an interesting experiment.
What about hot chilly paper?
Haven't tried it. You never know until tested.
WOW ... 1000 RPM ! :)
NICE DESING ! :)
Noise
Shhh
The same happened to my toy wind turbine on my a recreation of a wind farm
Nice windmill that you have there i wish i have one of those
Yeah no way they can survive high winds without some kind of speed control. I'm hoping to get back at a new system later this summer. Will likely have a video on it.
Now. Make 100V
De is meant for hard shelled, crawling insects. It can take 1 week to a month to see results.
Cool! Feed them guys. 🎉
That's the plan!
Looks great! Nice and easy method. Thanks!
Thanks. Yes it works good. I didn't show it in the video but you continue the washing process the potato peels will all come off.
@@BobKelland I tried the idea in a container in my sink, but it was splashing a lot of water all over my kitchen desk. I would need a bucket with a lid and a hole in its center, I guess. I think im just going to buy a peeler machine instead. They are only about 30 dollars.
@@CT2507 Outside is best with this idea.
@@BobKelland Yea, if I had a garden I would do it this way.
Mt Washington Be Like
How long did he come out after?
Just a few mins
Awesome job.
Thanks!
Is it still therev
Long gone :)
Ash rings are good
Very good experiment with the battery
Use strong espresso coffee powder...5/5 or 8/10 which ever you can buy and not weaker coffee bean powder. That is the strength that no slug likes.
Decaffeinated?
slug pellets worked in my kitchen
Great! Keep your house pets clear of them.
None of these work. You have to take stuff out of your garden that they hide under and place pots upside down so they crawl in for the humidity. Then you’ll have to go out and empty them into a container and pour salt on them
If you have a raised bed the best approach is the electric fence. I have some examples on my channel.
Copper ring
I covered copper and other materials in a separate video. Check my YT channel. Copper doesn't work.
Jessus, didnt you know that they dont like aluminium foil?
I'm pretty sure he would have known that (if it's true).
Isn't there a possibility of you getting shocked off the fence as well.
A minor concern. Kids have been experimenting with 9 volt batteries like these on their tongues for ages. To my knowledge, no problems.
Where is this located?
?
So basically none of them work
This engine is eating better than me
I never thought about trying to blow the oil through with my shop vac (set on blow) to see if oil flows. Got a Ryobi in that isn't pumping. If it flows when I blows, then the pumps gone.

hi, i'm dwi from Indonesia. Can i use and share your video for my student to explain how to make ground mounted solar panels? Thx
Hi Dwi, yes by all means and if you make some progress I would appreciate you sending me some pictures and related info. Good luck!
As you clearly know a lot about chainsaw oils, I wonder what you think about this. Would it be ok to use, instead of chainsaw bar/chain oil, to use vacuum pump oil? That's the oil used in a vacuum pump like what's used to suck out the air in an air conditioner system. I can't find my danged chainsaw oil, which I kind of need right now, but I have a case of the danged vacuum pump oil. So I wonder if that's ok or a bad idea? I just bought one of those pole saws. It's a small electric chain saw on the end of an extendable pole (up to 9 feet). It says that the oil pump is automatic as it has no little bulb to push. I used it yesterday, but the oil level is exactly the same and the chain seems dry. So I removed the chain and bar to look at the "auto oil" thingy and it's nothing more than a little, tiny hole that I assume goes into the oil tank itself. It seemed clear, but I blew into the oil tank to see if the oil would push out, but it did not. So I think this is a defect from the manufacturer. I won't go into how ridiculous it is to deal with them! So I want to go old school, like I used to do with my old chainsaw where the oil thingy didn't even work. I just kept oil in one of those little oil cans with the flexible nozzle and finger pump. I would just oil the chain/bar ever few minutes. So since I can't find any extra chain oil around, I'm wondering if this vacuum pump oil would be ok. I also have some motor oils around... 5x30, 10w20 and another type, which I can't remember its number right now. LOL Ideas??
Automatic transmission oil works too.
@@BobKelland So when you say "too" are you saying that vacuum pump oil would be ok as well? Mind you, since my post, I did go out and bought a quart of seasonal chainsaw oil and a little oil can. Old school, but it works. LOL I just used the saw after giving it good oiling.
@@BlondieSL not familiar with vacuum oil so I can’t judge its suitability for this application.
@@BobKelland Ah. Ok. Thanks then.
When it's raining, will the waterfow connect both the positive and the negative wire? And result in shortcircuit? If so, how can you solve that problem?
That's not a problem the spacing, etc. makes a bridge by water hardly noticeable.
I saw a slug eating coffee grounds is it going to be ok
Don't worry about it, the worms in my worm farms love coffee.
That looks like so much fun! Even for a small excavator.
Yes very relaxing. Amazing what you can do with a tractor of this size.
So basically nothing work even the DE
Yup that's the reality.
Have you ever had an issue when fully extending the backhoe bucket? When the backhoe bucket is fully extended there is a 90 degree elbow that makes contact with the backhoe. I have had two elbows snap off in like a day.
Haven't had any issues like that after years of use.
@@BobKelland yeah it is very strange, it almost seems like it was an issue from the factory. It is a 2011 bx25 but new to me.
@@MSB1080 I think the tractor I just ordered has a "soft assist" feature to prevent that very thing from happening.
@@RandomStuff-zt6qf yeah they just needed to weld it up another 1/4 inch
Cause it's got crap factory tires buy some mud and snows it becomes a completely different animal
When the bottom is on the snow tires don't make much difference.
@@BobKelland seems he was moving back and forth buy some and get back to me stud them also I've run mud and snows for 40 years in upstate new york I don't plow my driveway never been stuck and neither has my wife. Dragging the bottom or not ask any snow plow driver or D.O.T. They will tell you snow tires in the winter. What do you think they run on there vehicles
@@adammartineau2818 You can be sure he had snow tires on all four wheels. It is standard practice around here. More often than not you will see studded tires around here.
